The crown granted tenancy of the Wynyard Estate in 1230 and it has been in use ever since. It wasn’t until the tenure of the 3rd Marquess of Londonderry that the Hall became the talk of Europe. Lady Frances Anne established herself as the most glamorous hostess in England. Indeed, it inspired Disraeli to remark “I never left London with such a sense of relief and such anticipation of happiness”.

Wynyard Hall is simply the best location in which to get married. Whether it be a civil ceremony or you would like to get married in our chapel your dream wedding can become a reality. You can benefit from the total exclusivity of using the whole hall and ensure a day and night of celebration you and your guests will never forget.

As a building licensed by the Church of England, The 18th Century Chapel at Wynyard Hall provides a truly magnificent venue, where up to 160 guests may witness your marriage ceremony.

Wynyard Hall has three magnificently appointed State Rooms, licenced by Stockton Borough Council, one of which is certain to provide a truly romantic setting for your ceremony. Conservatory, Ball Room and Mirror Room.

Requirements for the Ceremony
The Registrar will advise whether photography and / or video recording can take place during the ceremony.

Readings and music may be included in the ceremony provided there are no references of a religious nature.

Please consult the Registrar to ensure the acceptability of an item for inclusion.

Members of the general public may only be excluded from attending a ceremony if there are sufficient invited guests to reach the maximum permitted number of persons for your chosen room.
