The Upper House Hotel is a former Wedgwood residence, built in 1845 for Josiah Wedgwood’s grandson, Francis Wedgwood. This country house has been converted into a high quality, privately-owned hotel, retaining many of its original features.
The Upper House Hotel has 22 en-suite bedrooms and is well situated for visitors to Wedgwood and the Potteries. It is set in a rural, peaceful location surrounded by woodland and landscaped gardens.
The combination of original oak panelling and extensive period decoration forms a restful backdrop for individual guests, wedding receptions and company meetings or conferences.
The Upper House Hotel is licensed for civil marriages and partnerships. We maintain beautiful gardens and surroundings which make ideal backdrops for photographs. We pride ourselves on being flexible enough to tailor-make your day to meet your individual requirements.
Your wedding will be the only one held at The Upper House Hotel on your special day. Maximum numbers for a meal are 100 and for the evening buffet and entertainment 150. The room licensed for Civil Ceremonies will seat up to 50 people.
We recommend a visit to see the location and facilities.
