Holdenby House as you see it today is based around the remaining Kitchen wing of the old Palace. In the 1870s it was restored and added to by the present owner’s great-great-grandmother, Lady Clifden, with the Victorian architect Richard Carpenter. It is approximately 1/8th the size of the original palace.

Holdenby is a very special place and we offer the perfect setting for very special weddings. It is made available only on the basis of your exclusive use and is licensed for civil ceremonies. The house can hold up to 108 for a seated meal in the same room, and up to 200 for dancing in the evening. For larger weddings, a marquee in the Arches Field can be used together with the house.
Holdenby is a much-loved family home, not a cold commercial venue. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Because it is lived in, the house is only available for weddings on a handful of days each year. Those days are memorable for couples who celebrate their weddings here. We try to make you feel it is your own private home for the day.

We want you to have the wedding you choose, and will help you as much or as little as you want. We will not tell you what music to have or where to put the flowers. You will not be sharing your day with other wedding parties, with a tourist group from Dallas or with a dinner-dance for the local Rotary Club.
