The Crown Hotel rests on the edge of the river Stour in the rich heartland of Dorset. This elegant 18th century coaching house rose from the ashes of the original Crown Inn following the disastrous fire of 1731.
Today of course, the hotel offers our guests and passing visitors every comfort they would come to expect and we’re proud to support this with a level and quality of service from days gone by.
The hotel has a character and charm all of its own and the tradition and history that lies steeped in the rich wooden panels that adorn the walls is as genuine as the warmth of the welcome that awaits you.
For private parties, dinners or small meetings we have a choice of individual rooms. And for those larger occasions, conferences, meetings, product launches, banquets and dances there is the self contained Sealy Suite.
Set in our secluded Victorian walled garden, the Sealy Suite is also the perfect choice for weddings and as we have a wedding licence you can get married and enjoy a wonderful reception all at the Crown Hotel.
