Weddings at Chettle House, Blandford Forum
Chettle House is a place of enormous character, charm and interest. Guests are immediately struck by the warm and intimate atmosphere, and the feeling that Chettle House is still a much cherished family home. The exclusivity of the venue for your special day, combined the historic splendour and magical gardens, makes Chettle House one of Dorset’s most sought after venues.
The Oak Entrance Hall, with its sweeping oak staircase and fine family portraits, offers an impressive setting for a drinks reception and a stunning backdrop for photographs. The elegant Drawing Room, which overlooks the gardens and adjoining countryside, accommodates 150 people for a canapé reception and seats up 80 guests for the wedding breakfast. Wedding receptions for up to 400 guests are held in a marquee on an elevated croquet lawn from where the house provides a splendid backdrop.
Intimate church weddings and blessings (up to 80 seated and 15 standing) are hosted in St Mary’s Church, which borders the gardens.
