A grand house with contemporary style, a leafy setting near the heart of the city. Jesmond Dene House is neither a townhouse nor a country house hotel. It’s simply 40 well-designed rooms in a richly historic building offering understated luxury and rather good food. Overlooking the small wooded valley of Jesmond Dene, it guarantees peace, escapism and a refreshing change. Newcastle’s city centre, however, is only a five-minute drive.

When it comes to weddings, we’re not like other hotels. For a start, we don’t believe in wedding packages. We just have some rather special rooms and spaces, and some creative dining options so you can put together something that suits your needs. We’re licensed to hold civil ceremonies so you can do the legal bit here and celebrate afterwards or you can just come here for your reception.

You can be as intimate or as flamboyant as you like. The Apartment, for example, is a quiet, private place for a ceremony for up to 10 guests or you can invite 100 people and enjoy the richness of the wood-panelled Great Hall. Together with our range of other private rooms, we can cope with any number in between. And there are colourful gardens for drinks and photographs, should you so choose.

We can arrange small supper parties or grand dinners, late wedding breakfasts or evening cocktails – your choice, your wedding day.

Horton Grange Country House Hotel is situated three – miles east of Ponteland, and is excellently located for major road – routes & Newcastle International Airport.

The hotel is the perfect setting for all occasions, whether it be a weekend break – away in one of our five traditionally decorated rooms in the Grade II listed house, or in one of our four contemporary annexe bedrooms to the main house, all of which offer free wireless broadband.

Horton Grange Country House Hotel is also the perfect venue for Weddings. The hotel can be hired exclusively for you & your guests private use, ensuring the day will be one that is remembered forever.
Our maximum seating capacity within the hotel is 150 guests, although a marquee can also be erected in the grounds allowing a larger capacity. This would be at an extra cost and would need to be discussed in full prior to accepting any booking.

Horton Grange Country House Hotel & Restaurant is available exclusively for you and your wedding guests making your special day truly personal. From Monday – Thursday, the charge for exclusivity is £650. On Friday – Sunday, the charge for exclusivity is £900 and on Saturdays the charge for exclusivity is £1,295. We require a non-refundable deposit of £1000 to confirm your booking. The remaining balance is payable 14 days prior to your wedding.
We hold a licence to conduct wedding ceremonies in one of our elegant rooms within the house. We are justifiably proud of our fine cuisine. Our chef will be happy to adapt the extensive “modern classic” menu to suit your needs. Choose from the selection of fine wines and champagnes from our well stocked cellar to compliment your wedding breakfast.

Whatever you want – from string quartet to disco, formal barbecue or marquee in the grounds, our wedding co-ordinator will advise and help your dreams become reality.
