Tankersley Manor began life as a 17th century manor house that surpasses itself on the quaintness and charm front, with its stone windowsills and original oak beams. Our award winning grounds are the epitome of a countryside idyll and the spectacular scenery of the Peaks and the Dales that waits on the doorstep is equally stunning. Our rooms are little havens of loveliness tucked into the original manor and a sensitively designed extension.

The award winning grounds will woo you with their ideal setting amongst some of the country’s most picturesque scenery. It’s the personal touches too. Our experienced team of wedding planners and banqueting managers have countless other little ways of making your wedding the most amazing day of your (and your guests’) life, from organising flowers and arranging entertainment and photographers to devising bespoke menus and pouring celebratory drinks. And as well as hosting your wedding reception, we’re also licensed to hold civil ceremonies.

Weddings at Whitley Hall Hotel, Sheffield

Whitley Hall is an ivy-clad 16th century mansion/ located within tranquil grounds of the large surrounding estate/ north of Sheffield. The grounds rise around the picturesque house and are planted with fine oaks and other mature trees. Peacocks/ Canadian geese/ mallards and squirrels grace the gardens/ which also include two small lakes. However/ the Hotel is within easy reach of Sheffield city centre/ The building itself takes up three sides of a large square that once formed a paved courtyard. The central gateways ivy covered pillars are still in existence at the end of the lawn. The recently opened Parker wing offers rooms of the very highest standard/ all of which have Juliet balconies including four deluxe bedrooms with lake views. Whitley Hall has a rich history/ as the ill-fated Mary Queen of Scots was believed to have stayed here whilst in the custody of the Earl of Shrewsbury at Sheffield Castle.
