Weddings at Gilwell Park, London

This is undoubtedly one of the most exciting times of your life. Your wedding day should be the biggest, most extravagant and glamorous day in your life and deserves the perfect setting.

Set within 108 acres of mature parkland, Gilwell Park is truly a place of inspiration. Just 30 minutes from London’s Liverpool Street, and yet in open countryside, the entire location combines 17th Century charm with 21st century facilities. The White House is a 17th Century Grade 2 listed building and is the centrepiece of the estate, providing a stunning backdrop for your perfect wedding reception. It has been sympathetically restored to offer the most up to date facilities, including a lounge bar and 41, three star double, twin and single rooms.

When you book your event we give you the reception rooms in the White House, the Buffalo Lawn, as well as the whole of our Colquhoun International Centre (C.I.C.), which includes the Main Hall and several smaller rooms.

The Prince Albert Suite, Raffles Suite and Mappin Pavilion all provide the perfect backdrop for a private party. Each room is available with outdoor space at which to welcome your guests with drinks and enjoy unique photo opportunities.
Weddings
ZSL London Zoo holds a civil ceremony license for the Mappin Pavilion (up to 80 guests) and the Prince Albert Suite (100 to 210 guests) allowing you to tie the knot surrounded by over 5,000 animals.

Our dedicated team will work with your chosen caterer to help you plan and organise every detail for your special day. Advice can be given on florists and entertainment, making the most of your day in our beautiful grounds and meeting some of our special animals.

Civil Partnerships
ZSL London Zoo offers the ultimate location for a Civil Partnership that is as wild or tame as you are. The Mappin Pavilion is a stunning Grade II listed building, located next to the Bear Mountain, offers a unique backdrop at which to say ‘I do’. Follow the Ceremony with Drinks and Canapes at the Komodo Dragon House, before returning to the Mappin Pavilion for a Fork Buffet, Barbecue or Seated Dinner.

Dancing is available until Midnight. Capacities for up to 80 guests seated or 150 with occasional seating. Other locations are available.’

We are also able to accommodate Asian wedding ceremonies and receptions for up to 210 guests seated. The room can be themed to suit your requirements by your choice of supplier. The kitchens are available for your use exclusively by accredited caterers.

ZSL London Zoo can offer you a fantastic location for your wedding ceremony and reception or Barmitzvah that will be the envy of your friends! Our suites can accommodate up to 210 guests for a Barmitzvah, and conjure up many ideas for a unique theme.

Prince Albert Suite
The regally decorated Prince Albert Suite, with it’s terrace and zoological lawns, is our largest and most versatile function space.

Holding upto 210 for a dinner dance or even more for a conference, this first floor room overlooks zoo gardens and has disabled access. In addition, it features a sprung wooden dance floor, PA system, and fixed bar. Suitable for all events, from wedding ceremonies and Barmitzvahs to product launches and summer parties.

Weddings at The Bleeding Heart, London

The sense of history lies heavy in the Crypt of St. Etheldreda’s. Its foundations date back to the 6th Century; its rough stone walls, eight foot thick in parts, and its heavy blackened beams to the 12th Century when Ely Palace was constructed above The Crypt by the Bishops of Ely in Cambridgeshire as their London bishopric.

In 1531 Henry VIII and his first wife Catherine of Aragon hosted a Grand Celebration in The Crypt which lasted for five full days and nights. They feasted on swans, stuffed with larks stuffed with sparrows.

The Landmark Arts Centre is a distinctive venue for the whole community. Our vibrant range of activities is growing and we have something to engage and entertain several times a week, most weeks of the year.

We do all this in a magnificent 19th century Grade II* listed building, a former church, which we preserve for the benefit of the whole community.

Our wedding fayre has over 60 exhibitors in areas such: as beauty and health; clothes for bride and groom; wedding planners; cake makers; theme decorators; photographers and stationery – in fact everything the bride-to-be and her family could possibly need.

Weddings at Chiswick House, London

This exquisite gem, set within an oasis of beautiful
landscaped grounds, is one of West London’s most
sought-after locations for elegant occasions.
An 18th-century masterpiece of classical design,
Chiswick House boasts sweeping staircases, portico,
a central dome and tall columns reminiscent of
ancient Roman temples.
The lavishly gilded interiors provide a stylish setting
for civil wedding ceremonies and a sumptuous
backdrop for corporate and private events.

Designed in 1728 by the third Earl of Burlington,
Chiswick House was inspired by the architecture
of ancient Rome and 16th century Italy.

Few entrances are as grand.Two graceful
stone staircases lead directly into the Domed
Saloon which lies at the very heart of this
wonderful house.
Musicians playing in the shelter of the covered
portico can make the welcome even warmer, as
guests move into the octagonal room decorated
with paintings and trios of busts.
The unusual shape of the room is perfect for
dining and for civil wedding ceremonies. Seating
can be arranged with a traditional aisle, or in a
circular layout for a more intimate experience.
The Courtyard lies directly adjacent to the
House, adjoined by a lime tree avenue, which
can be dramatically lit at night.
This private and sheltered space is a lovely setting
for summer drinks receptions before dinner
within the House.
Stylish marquees can also be sited here, raising
the overall capacity to 150 for dinner or 130 for
dinner and dancing.

Weddings at Middle Temple Hall, Muswell Hill

1. As soon as you have made provisional arrangements for a marriage on
approved premises you are advised to contact the Superintendent Registrar
for the district in which the premises are situated – Finsbury Town Hall,
Rosebery Avenue, London EC1R 4QT.

2. Without the presence of this Superintendent Registrar and a Registrar there
can be no marriage and any arrangements for the use of the premises depend
entirely on their availability. It is, therefore, essential that you make an
advance booking with the Superintendent Registrar for attendance at your
proposed marriage as soon as a booking can be accepted. A fee for this
attendance will be payable by you to the Superintendent Registrar before the
ceremony.
3. In addition you will also have to give notice of marriage to the
Superintendent Registrar(s) of the district(s) in which you live. This notice
must be given in person by one of you but is valid only for three months.
You should, therefore, attend the register office where you live as soon as
possible after notice can be given.
4. You are advised that any arrangements made for a marriage to take place on
the approved premises are dependent on:
(1) the attendance of the Superintendent Registrar and a Registrar for
the district in which the premises are situated; and
(2) the issue of the authority or authorities for marriage by the
Superintendent Registrar (s) to whom the notice of marriage was
given.
5. When notice is given in a different registration district from the one where
the marriage is taking place, the couple will have to collect the authority
before the ceremony and ensure that it is delivered to the Registrar who is to
attend the ceremony.
6. You are advised that only a civil, non-religious ceremony can be permitted
by the Superintendent Registrar. Any music, reading, words or performance
which form any part of the ceremony must be secular. The content of the
ceremony must be agreed in advance with the Superintendent Registrar who
will be attending the ceremony.
Middle Temple cannot be held responsible for any failure of compliance with legal
requirements in relation to a marriage on its premises.
