The crown granted tenancy of the Wynyard Estate in 1230 and it has been in use ever since. It wasn’t until the tenure of the 3rd Marquess of Londonderry that the Hall became the talk of Europe. Requirements for the Ceremony
The Registrar will advise whether photography and / or video recording can take place during the ceremony.

Readings and music may be included in the ceremony provided there are no references of a religious nature.

Please consult the Registrar to ensure the acceptability of an item for inclusion.

Members of the general public may only be excluded from attending a ceremony if there are sufficient invited guests to reach the maximum permitted number of persons for your chosen room.

Hardwick Hall, once a former country seat of the squires of Sedgefield, must be one of the most beautifully situated Country Hotels in the North-East. Set in 120 acres of parkland, the Hotel offers a magnificent setting for your special day.

Our six Premier Bedrooms are our ‘jewels in the crown’ and offer superb accommodation of the very highest quality, including Bang & Olufsen hi-fi systems and TV’s as well as 42″ plasmas in selected premiers.
